Understand the situation.
Consider the options.

Investment concerns do not all follow the same legal route. The first step is to establish what happened and whether the matter falls within the relevant lawyer’s practice.

01

Investment & trading disputes

Disagreements about an investment, a broker’s conduct, contractual terms or access to funds. The agreements and communications help establish the questions that need to be addressed.

  • Investment agreements and account records
  • Representations made by the platform or intermediary
  • Withdrawal requests and the responses received
02

Suspected investment fraud

Concerns about a boiler-room operation, a misleading investment offer, a Ponzi scheme or a pyramid scheme can raise different issues from an ordinary contractual dispute. An enquiry should distinguish facts from suspicions.

Any possible civil claim, report or other step is considered on its own facts. A concern does not by itself prove wrongdoing.

03

Digital assets & payment records

Some investment disputes involve cryptocurrency, exchanges or several payment providers. You can identify these in your enquiry so the lawyer can decide whether the matter is within scope.

No tracing, freezing of assets or recovery is promised. Never share a wallet seed phrase, private key, password or one-time code.

04

Cross-border questions

The location of the parties, contractual terms and possible enforcement may affect the practical legal options. A claim in another country can involve additional advisers, costs and limitations.

Any proposed use of another adviser or specialist should be explained in the engagement arrangements.

What this does not mean

No automatic recovery route.

This is not an investment service, bank, public authority or service that can release funds on demand. A legal assessment cannot ensure that assets exist or that a claim will succeed.

General shopping disputes and other non-investment matters are not the focus of this website. The relevant lawyer decides whether an individual enquiry can be accepted.
